Bobby and I sure do! We both spent many summers sweating away in the Alabama heat and loving every minute of it. We also can clearly remember important moments with God that happened in those altars and how those experiences shaped who we are.
The 150 children, who are in our programs, face many difficulties resulting from the devastating impact of poverty on their families. They are forced to take on grown-up responsibilities like caring for their baby siblings, cooking meals, working in the streets, etc. far too early. Poverty often robs them of their chance to just be kids and enjoy childhood.
Our holistic approach to ministering to each child and their family gives us the chance to make a difference in their lives. We have arranged with each family, a way that their children can spend part of each day during summer break, enjoying their childhood on our beautiful campus, where they are safe, cared for and shown the love of God. With our summer camps, we strive to help each child recognize their God-given potential as they develop their faith.
We have planned weeks of themed day camps to engage the children in learning about God while also having fun and receiving healthy meals. Summer camp programs will include:
- Sports weeks: learn what it’s like to be on God’s team;
- Survivor weeks: learn how Jesus can be your anchor to survive life’s storms;
- Creator’s weeks: learn about the greatest creator…God;
- Water weeks: find what lies beneath the surface through the truth of God’s Word.
We want to give each child the best summer camp experience possible – one they will never forget. The only way we can do that is with your help. We hope that you will impact a child’s life by sponsoring one or more scholarships to attend our summer camps. It only costs $100 per child for the entire summer. Click here to donate online.
Thank you for being there for us and for the children of Ecuador. Together, we can work to help each child interrupt the cycle of poverty, dream about their futures, experience God’s love in tangible ways, and grow into the people God created them to be.
