You may have already seen the news that Ecuador suffered a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday. Reports are still coming in, but the current information states the loss of 350 lives and thousands injured. However, rescue efforts are still in the early stages.

The majority of damage is on the coast, where there are many of our sister churches facing devastation. In our area, the affects were frightening, but only left minor damages, including a roof we will need to replace. The children in our ministry programs and their families are safe.

We have received reports from pastors in isolated areas where they have yet to receive any rescue team and are running out of food. They report cadavers left in the debris; and are, themselves, sleeping in unstable shelters as they await help from outside. Many have lost loved ones and their homes.

We are working with our fellow pastors in organizing relief efforts to help those in our region who are without food, water, power, housing, etc. If you would like to contribute to that effort, please donate online or send a check to the address below, making a note that is is for “relief”.
